Avril Wessels |
Founder
Avril brings over 30 years of experience teaching Orton-Gillingham in both one-on-one and small-group settings. She is an accredited Orton-Gillingham Practitioner in Canada (OGP) and the USA (AOGPE), a Supervising Mentor, and an Evaluator with Orton-Gillingham Canada, with additional training in Wilson Reading, Lindamood-Bell, Barton, and Montessori through UBC. She is deeply passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
Raelynne Wessels | Director of Operations
Raelynne supports and oversees Areté’s growth and operations, working behind the scenes to help bring Avril’s vision to life. She builds the structure and systems that allow Areté to grow, evolve, and continue supporting students well into the future.
Talayna Davis | Practitioner

Talayna is a dedicated Orton-Gillingham Practitioner who is passionate about helping students unlock their literacy potential. Her approach focuses on the individual needs of each learner, ensuring they feel supported and empowered throughout their educational journey with Areté.
Kayleen Jansen | Studio Administrator
Kayleen supports the day-to-day administration of Areté, helping keep operations organized and running smoothly. She is currently completing her Orton-Gillingham practicum while studying psychology with long-term goals of becoming an occupational therapist and continuing to grow with Areté.
